Dallas Church is committed to showing Jesus' love to our community, and since Dallas Church is YOU, we want to share ways in which you can do just that. This page will list service opportunities and needs that arise, and we hope that you will prayerfully consider how you can help. Sharing Jesus' love is what it's all about! If you would like to post an opportunity/need to this page, please email Leslie Friesen.

The Dallas Area Community Holiday Project and Christmas Cheer NEED YOU! Many of you have heard of the Dallas Area Community Holiday Project that allows individuals, businesses and churches to adopt families with children who need help with food and gifts during the Christmas season (about 350 families last year). For the past number of years, the Polk County Commission for Children and Families and Service Integration staff have spent a large amount of their time from September through December working on the Holiday Project. This also includes the intake process for Dallas Christmas Cheer. Due to budget and staffing reductions, the PCCCF and Service Integration staff are unable to devote the same amount of time and energy as in previous years. Their core mission is to connect individuals and families in Polk County to area services and resources. The churches in Dallas have a wealth of potential volunteers who have the necessary life experience and perhaps professional background to assist in helping these needy families. It would be helpful, but not required, to have experience in adminstration, organizational, and/or clerical tasks. If you have a heart for the community, PLUS TIME to volunteer, please contact Debbie McMillian at 503-623-2731 or email her at McMillian.debra@co.polk.or.us.

Rita with the Dallas Retirement Village is asking for help to move residents outdoors to their parking lot for a small fireworks display. It would be a commitment from 6:30-8 pm Saturday July 3rd and would be a great way to serve the residents and be done before the big fireworks display in Falls City. For more details or to volunteer your family or your small group or team, call Rita at 503.623.1807. |

Dallas Church is actively seeking administrative assistance. If you have the abilities, time and desire, please contact Heather@dallaschurch.org or the church office at 503-623-2711. Do you like reading the bulletin? You should try creating it! It’s so much more fun than reading it. It’s a hoot! If you’d like to be part of the communications team and meet at the church office on Thursdays to create and print the bulletins for DC, please contact the church office or heather@dallaschurch.org. |

***Polk County Juvenile and Youth Programs is making an appeal for Proctor Homes. The Proctor parents must have a clear criminal background check, no current mental health issues, alcohol dependencies or substance abuse in order to be approved. The proctor home can accept up to two youth between 12-17 who have been in Oregon Youth Authority custody (they have had criminal activity in their past). The youth must have their own bedroom apart from any biological children in the family, although two program youth can share a bedroom. They may be placed with the proctor family from 6-18 months. Proctor families receive $700/mo. (tax free) difficulty of care payment and $450/mo. to offset maintaining the youth in their home (food, clothing, allowance, sport fees, etc). Training is provided for Proctor Parents. These youth are not easy, but if you have a heart for them this can be a very meaningful ministry that can have life changing impact on these youth.
